Samantha and Cayler – Gorgeous Blush Pink Wedding

Samantha and Cayler Gorgeous Blush Pink wedding!

Sam and Cayler were one of the sweetest couples that I have ever had the pleasure to work with.  From their stories of him sitting playing the guitar for her every evening on their porch to the day of their wedding, you can see nothing but pure love for another in their hearts as it glows on their faces.

Here is a peek into their love story in Samantha’s words . . . . . It will surely make your heart melt!

How they met:

Cayler and I met in high school. We were introduced through mutual friends, and became friends ourselves after I started attending the church that we now both call home. As juniors in high school, we began our dating relationship, which included “dates” to hang out at friend’s houses, dinners at local restaurants in town, and day trips to the beach or to go mountain biking. I will forever cherish the memories of our earliest years. Those were the years that provided a strong foundation of friendship in our relationship. Being married now to my best friend is the best feeling in the world.

How they fell in love and knew they were perfect for one another:

“He was raised to know that God and family come first . . . “

What drew me to Cayler so many years ago was his kind heart. He’s always been a strong, gentle, and humble man. He was raised to know that God and family come first, and has always been a man to focus on the important things in life. He’s so easy to love! Where I am weak or lacking, he makes up for, and with some of his struggles, I help to balance him out. Though we are very compatible, neither of us believes that there is such thing as “The One”… I know, not very romantic… but we realize that no two people are perfect, including ourselves, and that two imperfect people coming together has potential for heartbreak. What makes our relationship romantic is knowing that everyday, we choose to love each other. It’s a daily, conscious choice to put his needs before mine, to honor him, to respect him. Being in a relationship requires work and a lot of grace. When you choose to marry, that person becomes “Your One”… in good times and in bad, for richer or for poorer, in sickness or in health, ‘till death do us part.

“What makes our relationship romantic is knowing that everyday, we choose to love each other.”

The Proposal:

In July of 2013, Cayler’s family graciously invited me on their family vacation—a 7 night cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas! On the second night of the cruise, Cayler’s mom and I were in our room getting ready for a formal dinner. Cayler knocked on the cabin door and asked me if I was almost ready… of course I was not; I thought we still had thirty minutes or more! He convinced me that I looked great, and rushed me out so that we could go check out the sunset before it was too late …Too late for what?

As we made our way to aft, I was completely oblivious to what was going on (and let’s be honest, a little concerned that my hair might not be perfect, since I was rushed). Cayler lead me to the back of the ship where his master-plan almost fell through! We “randomly” ran into his dad, holding a CAMERA! To cover up his mistake, his dad quickly said “Just taking pictures of the sunset! It’s amazing from back here!” Still, I wasn’t catching on…

“He told me that I was his treasure”

As we were standing at the back of the boat watching the most beautiful sunset I’ve ever seen, and just spending a romantic moment together, Cayler dropped to one knee, and with tears in his eyes, told me how much I meant to him. He told me that I was his treasure, and that he would always take care of me. He asked me to his bride and his prize forever.  The words Cayler spoke to me as he proposed are priceless to me. Up until my wedding day, I had never felt more valued and loved in a single moment.

“and now we look forward to growing old together”

Now, more than six years later, Cayler still makes me feel loved and valued every day. When I’m with him, the stress of regular life don’t seem so big anymore. Throughout our relationship, we have survived both high school and college, and are beginning our careers and preparing our hearts to start a family. The best part of marriage is simply “doing life” together. It’s the little things we do, such as praying as a couple or cooking dinner together or taking camping trips, that truly make us “one”. We have had the opportunity to grow up together, and now we look forward to growing old together.
